Luke McLinden BVM BVS MRes MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon

Luke started his veterinary journey working as an animal care assistant at a veterinary practice in the West Midlands. He trained at the University of Nottingham and has been at Selworthy since the Summer of 2025. 

As a student, Luke sat on the RCVS Education Committee, contributing to veterinary educational policy at an undergraduate and postgraduate level. Whilst at the University of Nottingham, he undertook a Master of Research degree focusing on the equine respiratory disease, strangles. Through this work he helped undercover novel findings about the carrier state and has presented his findings at veterinary conferences in the the UK, Europe and the US. He is a published author with two scientific papers on equine strangles focusing on his research findings. 

Luke enjoys all aspects of mixed practice particularly dealing with cases of strangles and other infectious diseases. He enjoys working with 'all creatures great and small' including companion animals, farm animals and equids.
